We’re flying north for an overnight, Elena and I. Just a quick little jaunt to Chicago. We’ve never gone out of town just the two of us. She thinks I’m picking her up early to go to the eye doctor today. I can’t wait to see the look on her face when I tell her we have other plans!
What’s the occasion? Perhaps we have some pent-up adolescent aggression we need to address? No – but Smashing Pumpkins totally helps in that regard.
The main reason is that there’s a new exhibit at the Field Museum, “Wonders of the 1893 World’s Fair,” that I’ll be reviewing. But really, that’s just an excuse for me to spend some more one-on-one time with my favorite girl.
Stay tuned later this week for the recap. For now, I have someone’s overnight bag to surprise pack!

I’m looking forward to the review! I think that Fair was the subject of a book Bill really enjoyed so if the exhibit is good then I might get him (us) some tickets as a Christmas gift.

I think I recall a book on the topic … Devil in the White City, maybe?
