This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to the winner, Hoosier Party Girl! Thanks to everyone who entered.
This post is sponsored by Indiana Pork, who provided compensation as well as tickets to the Fair Oaks Farms Pig Adventure.
I’ve had a soft spot for pigs ever since I first read Charlotte’s Web. I wanted my own Wilbur, and the first thing I would’ve done is give my piglet a buttermilk bath. Sadly, my suburban self never got the pig she dreamed of, but that didn’t stop me from loving pigs. Babe? One of the best movies ever. First stop at the Indiana State Fair? The Swine Barn. You can only imagine what happens when I’m driving on 65 North towards Chicago and I see this billboard:
Fair Oaks Farms, one of the gems of northern Indiana, is expanding to include The Pig Adventure. Fair Oaks Farms is well known for its Dairy Adventure, which give you an up-close look at dairy farming, as well as for its Cheese Factory and Cafe. Now they’ve added pigs to the mix, making an already wonderful agritourism experience even better!
Take a few minutes to check out Fair Oaks Farms, the new Pig Adventure, and all the fun things in store for your family at the farm. Be sure to watch the Pig Cam with the kids – my kids can watch it over and over again and still get the giggles. Then get on your trotters and visit for yourself!
The grand opening of The Pig Adventure is August 5 (Hogust 5 in Pig Latin), with lots of special activities lined up. Can’t make it that day? Not a problem. The pigs and the cows are here to stay, just waiting for you to come visit. As a special treat, I have a 4-pack of tickets to giveaway! You can use them to experience the grand opening, or visit any other time that’s convenient for you. Here’s what you need to to do enter:
- Leave a comment telling me the first thing you’d want to do at Fair Oaks Farms.
- For additional entries, tweet and/or share this giveaway on Twitter and/or Facebook. Leave a comment below telling me that you did so.
The giveaway will end at 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Winner will be notified via email and have 24 hours to respond before a new winner is chosen. Good luck!

We love climbing the giant milk carton! (We save the ice cream for last)
Stephanie Ime says
If I’m being honest, the first thing would probably be to grab a grilled cheese sandwich and some ice cream 🙂 After that it would either be the baby cows or the pigs.

We’ve never been, so I have NO idea what we’d do first. Oh, except for buying chocolate milk. We’d definitely do that first. 🙂

Katie at Fair Oaks Farms there is soooo much to do. Everybody loves it; and there is something for everyone. At Fair Oaks Farms you can take a bus tour over to one of their farms where the cows live. You get to ride through seeing the cows, you get to see where there food is kept and get to hear what’s all in it. Then you can even see where they milk the cows and where the milk gets transported to. Inside the main building you can go to see there 3d/4d movie, they have a little exhibit you can walk through that talks about fair oaks farms, and they have a play area for the kids. Outside they have a huge milk jug that you climb, like a rock wall, they have the birthing barn. In here you can see a cow being born, and also outside they have a huge jumping pillow, trains, and tractors that the kids can play on. Then next door is where you can get the amazingly tasty milk, taste the cheese, and get their ice cream, best part. They also have a gift shop and you can see how they make the milk, yogurt, and cheese as well. I guarantee that if you make a trip out to fair oaks farms you will be talking about ti forever.
