Thirty-One Square Utility Tote {Review & Giveaway}

I’m not sure when it happened, but at some point my vehicle stopped functioning as simply a place to get me from Point A to Point B and became more of a clubhouse on wheels. Where I could once just grab my purse and go, I found myself needing my purse, some snacks, drinks, books, markers, wet wipes, DSi, permission slips, and coupons. Mama turned into a pack mule, and the car turned into a rolling mess.


Enter the Square Utility Tote from Thirty-One. Kira Thomas, a local Thirty-One consultant, offered to let me try one for a few weeks. I wasn’t sure how I would use it, but it soon became apparent that it was destined to be me and my car’s best friend. It fit perfectly on my front passenger seat. Anything that needed to to come in and out of the car went in the tote. I’d gather things that needed to be brought in from the car and tote them into the house. After I emptied the tote, I’d leave it on the floor near the entrance to the garage. Anything that needed to go back in the car would get tossed in the tote, ready for the next errand.

The size is perfect - little things don’t get lost, but it easily handles a load of library books. The handles are sturdy and make it easy to sling on your arm and still carry a few other things. The fabric wipes clean easily and comes in a variety of cute designs. And as Eli is so helpfully demonstrating, it squishes down flat when not in use.

  1. My husband needs the Collapsible Cube in black, TYVM. He keeps a bunch of work-related gear in the car (safety shoes & glasses, hard hat, etc.) and it’s always such a hassle when we want to switch vehicles for the day. Although it would be for him, that Thirty-One product would make MY life easier.

  11. The wristlet has been a lifesaver with a new baby! I don’t have to carry my purse as the wristlet fits in his diaper bag and keeps my keys handy and not lost at the bottom of the bag!

Well, seeing as we just bought a farm, and we’ll be going back and forth between two houses for at least the next few months, anything with “utility tote” in the name would be a welcome addition to my household - especially if it’s free! (That’s my kinda price…) And I seem to be able to organize anything except my office, so if they have a fairy for that, I’ll take her, too. So, that’s my $.02!

    I went to my first Thirty One party a few weeks ago and am really excited about my new purchases! I got a handful of Organizing Utility Totes for Christmas gifts, and mini versions of the Square Utility Totes for the kids to haul toys into (and hopefully out of) the car.

  53. Oh my word, do I need this!!!!! My minivan is such a rolling mess!!! My husband is about to disown me because of all clutter in my van! I am one of those folks who has to have every possible thing they might ever need with me at all times. (jackets, blankets, books, bandaids, kleenex, sunblock, bug spray, etc.) Every time we are going somewhere, I ask, “Are we going in your car or mine?” And if he says, “Yours”, I have to go clean out the passenger seat. 🙁 Please, oh please, oh please let me win this!!!! I can only hold out hope that I will win, and conquer the chaos!!

  86. I love these bags!!!!! The organized car tote is a great idea bc of all the little things that are left in the car. I have the small organizer in apple blossom for my hair and makeup accesories. I hope to be able to purchase the large tote for summer time pool trips and picnics.

  94. This utility tote would be awesome. We carry so much with us whenever we go places. All of my sons feeding supplies, toys, and diapers could all be in one neat and organized place instead of all over the car.

  95. You just described my car perfectly! It’s constant. So, the utility tote would hel a lot but I could also use the thermo bag. I’ve had to change routes or plans because I realized I needed to stop at the store but then had to wait because I had other errands and couldn’t leave cold stuff in the hot car. I’ve also avoided buying perishables at teh Farmer’s Market , such as cheese, becaue I had other things to do and didn’t want it to spoil.

  96. I love the large utility tote. I has gone with me to the beach, the park, the pool and various other places. I would love the square utility tote to keep my car clutter free by providing the perfect place for the many baby and preschool books that have taken over!

  105. I just ordered the large rectangular one like this and I cant wait to use it as my new laundry basket. Finally handles for hauling the laundry to the laundromat!!!! And it’s definitely cuter than my old green plastic hamper.
