Wednesday brought more rain in the morning. We knew it was going to be crummy for most of the morning and early afternoon, so we drove over to Destin to do some shopping. I was happy to find a Zoe's Kitchen in Destin Commons, a restaurant I really liked in Nashville. We had a good lunch, the kids were able to play on the playground in between rain showers, and we were able to duck into a few cute stores along the way. I was tickled to find a pair of overalls similar to these for Eli for $14! Mike wasn't nearly as thrilled as I was with my steal of a deal. We were able to sneak in about 45 minutes at the pool before dinner.
My mom's sister, Hortensia, and her husband, Bill, had driven up earlier in the week from Tampa and were staying just down the road. They came over for dinner that evening and Hortensia cooked us some Spanish-style shrimp while Uncle Bill entertained the kids. Here they are posing with my kiddos:
Elena and I took an evening walk on the beach. And lo and behold, there's actually a picture of me from the trip!
These ghost crabs were scurrying all over the beach. At first you don't see them, then you notice one, and then you notice seemingly all of them, which is kind of freaky.
The surf looked much calmer this evening, and the forecast for the next day was good, so we went to bed eagerly anticipating a day full of sun and sand.

Angie. I like you a lot. I like your blog a lot. I acknowledge that in many things, women are smarter than men. I also acknowledge that I am a father of only daughters
But Angie. ANGIE. Those overalls… Spare the boy. Post hundreds of nekkid bottom pictures of the boy, but SPARE him the overalls…
