Hello friends. It’s been awhile. I didn’t mean to step away from writing here for so long. I thought I would take some time away and the itch to write would come back. And while I am starting to scratch that writing itch, I’m finding that what I want to write isn’t meant for this space. At least not for now.
That doesn’t mean that I’ve completely disappeared, or that I won’t come back to this space. It really bothered me to just leave Just Like The Number (even temporarily) without any closure. That last wintery post kept nagging me, like a sweater you leave hanging on a stair rail for so long you kind of forget it’s there. Every once in awhile you pass by and think, “I should do something about that sweater.” But you don’t, and then it’s August and you’re terribly embarrassed that it’s still there.
So that’s my awkward way of saying I’m hanging up the sweater (for now). Hopefully I’ll take it out again, but you know how sweaters can be. You can wear one season after season and love it like the day you brought it home. And then one season, without rhyme or reason, it just doesn’t suit you anymore.
If you come here because you enjoy stories about my family and about life in general, I hope you’ll follow me on my personal Instagram account @angiesix. If you miss my reading exploits and book reviews, I recently started an Instagram account dedicated to all things books and reading. You can find me there as @noshelfcontrol. I’m toying with the idea of a monthly newsletter as opposed to blogging. If you think you’d like to see my voice in your inbox once a month, sign up with your email. I promise I won’t ever share it, whether a newsletter materializes or not.
Wherever the next steps take me, I’d like to thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life. Thank you for reading, commenting, and encouraging me over the last twelve (!) years. The internet can be a weird place, but you’ve made this little corner of it positively delightful.
