I wish I could send each and every one of you an actual Christmas card in the mail, handwritten with words thanking you for reading and taking an interest in my little family and the words I write.
But, that would mean diverting the entire Christmas budget to postage and stationary, which I don’t think the kids would look too fondly upon.
As a matter of fact, it’s looking like we should have put some of that money towards a computer Armageddon fund. Apparently my trusty little Macbook took the Mayan calendar seriously. I turn it on and nothing happens. It’s embarrassing for both of us. Unfortunately, without him no photos are getting uploaded or edited. I know you are all waiting anxiously for Post #37 on Disney, but you’ll just have to wait a little longer.
We are headed up to Ohio to visit family, including my father-in-law, Paul. Paul and his wife, Alla, are not doing so well. In mid-November Alla fell off a ladder and shattered both her heels. She’s been bed and wheelchair bound since then. A little over a week ago, Paul was admitted to the hospital with breathing issues. While we’re praying for recovery, it’s not looking like that is possible. We haven’t told the kids yet … how does one do this?
All this is to say: thank you for another wonderful year. Good thoughts and prayers for Paul and Alla would be most appreciated. Things are a little shaky and unpredictable right now, so I’m going to assume that posting will be sporadic or non-existent for the next week or two. I hope you have a wonderful New Year and a peaceful, healthy and happy 2013.
