How does a boy spend his 5th birthday? Trying to cram everything he loves into one day, of course.
It means eating cereal your mom would never, ever buy any other day of the year (Reese’s Puffs).
It means watching Spongebob Squarepants and Ninjago and playing on the iPad with not even one warning that screen time is over.
It means lunch at Steak-n-Shake, just you and mom. And while the company is nice and the milkshake is delicious, the best part is not having to share your cheez dip with your sister.
It means commandeering Spotify for the day and listening to Justin Bieber and The Black Keys back to back, because in your world that makes perfect sense.
It means an afternoon at the pool, doing lots and lots of this:
and even more of this:
It means finally getting to go that mini-golf place we cruelly drive by nearly every day.
It means pizza for dinner and mint-chocolate chip ice cream pie for dessert.
It means big surprises under wrapping paper.
It means there aren’t enough hours in the day for us to celebrate you, the piece of the puzzle that made our family complete. Happy birthday to the boy that keeps our spirits high, our insurance deductible low and our hearts full.
