Greetings from Texas! It's Spring Break, and for once we've actually gone somewhere more than one state away. On Friday morning my good friend Julie and I packed up the kids (all 5 of them!) and drove straight through from Indy to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Or, in the words of Julie's daughter, Meg, "Hokahoma."
The drive went amazingly well: no tantrums or meltdowns of epic proportions, no accidents in the car. The kids did pretty well, too.
We spent a day in Tulsa with Julie and her kids, enjoying the odd feeling of warm sunshine on our skin and life on a cul-de-sac full of kids. The perfect antidote for spending previous 12 hours cooped up in a car, really.
My sister, more affectionately known in these parts as Aunt Suzy, drove the 4 hours from Dallas to pick the kids and I up. Again, the kids were fabulous on the drive. We'll see how they do on the trip back, but if it's more of the same, we really need to get out and explore more. They are fine, fine travelers.
We've filled our days in Texas with more sunshine, jumping on the trampoline, and fun with cousins Marc and Tony. My favorite thing so far? The shopping, of course. IKEA, The Container Store and Sam Moon, oh my! Elena's favorite thing? Tagging along after Marc. Eli's favorite thing? Riding Aunt Suzy's cooter.
I'm sorry, are you confused, and perhaps slightly offended? That would be Eli-speak for "scooter." As in Aunt Suzy's sweet Vespa.
Maybe, just maybe, I'll take a ride on the cooter myself. I bet you'd like to see a picture of that, huh?

Love it! Although, I might say with that skirt on we all may get a scooter shot! Love the way the outfit matches the ride…Aunt Suzie always knew how to accessorize!
