We're home from Texas. We had a wonderful time, and the kids keep asking when we can go back. If I had a magic carpet I would fly back in an instant. I'm not quite ready to repeat another 15-hour car trip again, though.
Instead, whenever I feel like wishing myself back, I will sit in the comfort of my own home with a tub of Blue Bell ice cream and look back on these photos.
Texas in the spring means bluebonnets. They are dotted along the roadsides like fairy tale carpets.
I have pictures of Elena as a baby and toddler in the bluebonnets. That was just last spring, right?
Thank goodness I still have this guy with his squishy cheeks and chubby fingers. Be kind to your momma, son. Don't grow up as fast as your sister.
They still fit in my lap, though. In my bluebonnet fairy tale, they will fit in that space forever.

Great pictures, Angie. Sounds like a great trip as well. I must confess I don’t get the whole Blue Bell craze. When it came to Nashville, people went nuts. I tried it and was disappointed – and that was before I looked at the ingredient list. However, I do get the bluebonnet craze!

In full disclosure, there are many ice creams I prefer over Blue Bell. My own, for one. If I'm going to splurge and buy something, Graeters or Jeni's Splendid. But I do love their Banana Pudding ice cream. No one else makes it that I know of, except my friend Katy. Unfortunately, she won't make me homemade banana pudding ice cream on demand!
