Hearts all over the blogosphere are breaking upon hearing the news that 17-month-old Maddie Spohr passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 7th. I briefly met Maddie's mom, Heather, at Blissdom '09. She writes at The Spohrs Are Multiplying (Just a warning, her website has been overloaded the past few days. If it's not working, be patient and try again later).
At the time of Maddie's passing, Heather was organizing a group to participate in the March for Babies in Los Angeles. March for Babies is a walk in which participants raise money for the March of Dimes. Maddie was born prematurely, and the March of Dimes organization was near and dear to Heather's heart, as they are to so many families who find themselves with premature babies. Walks are being held all over the country this spring. Here in Indy, Casey from Moosh In Indy is getting a group together to walk on April 26th on the campus of IUPUI. You can find more information on her blog. If you are unable to participate, I encourage you to make a donation to the March of Dimes in Maddie's memory.
Our hearts and prayers are with you, Mike, Heather, and Maddie.
