I've been waiting for this day for a long time now, as I'm sure many of you have as well. I thought I might try to early vote, but the word on the street was that the lines were long. I'm so glad I waited and voted today. It was an absolutely gorgeous November day, sunny and low 70s. After nap time I loaded Eli up in the stroller and we walked to the elementary school where we vote. I tried not to think too much about the fact that if we really wantedto, we could walk Elena to school here, too. I packed enough toys to entertain ten toddlers and enough snacks for everyone in line. Mike had waited an hour and 45 minutes earlier in the day and I wanted to Be Prepared. I lucked out on timing and was in and out of there in about 35 minutes. Back in the sunshine and ready to move on with life. I'm just giddy to see the outcome, so thrilled and proud to have been a tiny part of a very historic day. I took my proud self and the kids to Starbucks to get my free coffee, too.
Happy Election Day.
What's that you say? You want to know you I voted for?
Okay.
Here it is. Eli said, "Mommy, pick this one. "
And I said, "Good choice, son."
Now if only Mike would tell me who he voted for, my day would be complete.
