We are about to head up to Akron for Thanksgiving with the Morgan clan. Even though I still have too much to do and not enough time to do it in, I couldn't leave with sharing what I'm thankful for this season.
For this one:
I am thankful for his chubby cheeks, his sweet smile, the sound of his voice when he says "mama." I'm thankful that he sleeps through the night, that he can eat a whole avocado in one sitting, and that he tells on himself before he starts flinging my little glass bowls on the kitchen floor. I'm thankful that HE'S WALKING!!! (Video to come soon, I promise). I'm so thankful that we were blessed with this handsome fella. He completes our family.
For this one:
I am thankful for her quick wit and sassy mouth (most of the time). I am thankful for her willingness to try anything once. I am thankful for her love of reading, and for when she wants to read to me. I am thankful that that she's potty-trained, that she can get her own food if need be, that she can answer the phone politely, that she is excited to oblige when I ask her to please go get me the paper on a cold, dark morning. I am thankful that she is such a sweet and kind big sister. She's my first-born, but she will always be my baby.
And last, but certainly not least, this one:
I am thankful for his ability to provide for us. He works hard (all the time) without complaint (most of the time). I'm thankful for the father that he is to our children. He jumps right in when he walks in the door and is right there with me until everyone is tucked in. I'm thankful for the love and affection he shows them (and me!) every day. I'm thankful that he can fix things, especially that electrical outlet right next to my bed. You rock. I'm thankful that he is working so hard to give up caffeine and sugar. I'm thankful for how much he encourages me every day. I'm thankful to have a husband that tells me I'm beautiful every day. I'm thankful he doesn't root against Peyton even when it would benefit his fantasy football team to do so. I'm thankful that a long time ago I said yes and then we went to get Chuck fries. And I'm thankful that he hasn't yelled at me even once to stop blogging and start packing. That's true love, people.
I will leave you with a couple of pics of our Thankful Tree that we did this year.
Elena's thankful for Wii. At least she's honest.
Eli dictated what he's thankful for to Elena: Grandpa and margarita. Don't worry folks, that would be his 'rita, not salt-rimmed cocktail. I'm the one that's thankful for those 🙂
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
