It's been a while since I've recommended another blog here. With the holidays coming up now is the perfect time to introduce you to one of my favorite ways to window shop in my pj's. Cool Mom Picks is a blog run by a handful of moms who track down cool stuff for moms and kids. What really draws me in is their focus on"non-mainstream products and services, particularly those from indie or emerging designers and mom/women-run companies." They often feature things found on etsy, which is sort of like e-bay for handmade things.
CMP just rolled out their 2008 Safer Toy Guide. It's a great little list of gift ideas that won't have you checking websites the day after Christmas to make sure that cute little toy your peanut is gnawing on isn't chock full of lead. I don't know about your family, but for ours, this Christmas calls out for less. Less craziness, less consumerism, less plastic. CMP helps me to seek out some really fun stuff that doesn't require me to compromise good taste or my desire to shop with some conscience. I'll be putting a link up to their website on the side of my blog for a bit.
If you have any other great sites for gift ideas this holiday season, be sure to comment and pass them on!
