It’s been a crazy couple of days here (crazier than usual, I guess), so the blog’s been pretty far down on the totem pole. We had new carpet put in upstairs on Thursday, so the first half of the week was spent moving everything out of the rooms, and the next 3 months will be spent putting everything back where it belongs. It’s worth it, though – for the first time in our 11 years of married life we have brand spankin’ new carpet. No more mystery stains from mystery people, just our own nastiness for someone else to inherit. I wonder how long before one of us mucks it up . . . I give it one week.
Being that tomorrow is Easter, we did sneak in some egg decorating. I got a kit from Hearthsong that came with dyes, stickers and a handy little contraption that holds an egg so you can paint it. That was Elena’s favorite part. It also came with this nifty little cardboard contraption to display your eggs. You can’t see it very well, but the bunnies on it look sort of vintage-y, which I’m a sucker for.
I best get moving along, though. It’s 11 p.m. and I still have a kitchen to clean up from making carrot cake for Easter lunch, 2 baskets to put together, and the nearly insurmountable task of figuring out what I can wear to church tomorrow. Seeing as how it will be in the 30s tomorrow morning, I can promise it won’t be anything too cute and springy. We’re also attempting to go to the sunrise service at 8 a.m. tomorrow. We have officially lost our minds.
Happy Easter ya’ll!
