For the first time in a looooong time, the temperature got above 40 today. In fact, it was probably around 60 today. We came out of hibernation and enjoyed a glorious day. We took a walk down to the park in our neighborhood and gave Eli his first swing ride. He wasn’t too sure at first, but as you can see he came around. I love this picture because it captures the look on his face the majority of the day: big, bright eyes and mouth wide open in a huge smile. He does it so much, I’m not sure why I haven’t been able to adequately capture it on camera. Probably because I’m too busy swooning. Yeah, I would say 70% of the day he’s Mr. Smiley, and the rest of the time (when he’s not sleeping or eating) you get this:
The furrowed brow face. Usually reserved for Elena. It takes him awhile to figure out that she’s bending over backwards to entertain him, then insert crazy, happy baby face as seen above.
Maybe it’s because we went to church this morning and between the Jesus and the fresh air the love was flowing, but I found this inscribed at the foot of our driveway this afternoon:
For those of you not up on your kindergartenese, it says: "Love won another."
And lastly, we have an interesting couple of months ahead of us. Mike is taking a leave of absence from work for 12 weeks. He’ll be around to experience all the bliss that staying home with young ones provides . . . bwah ha ha ha ha! Seriously, though, I’m so excited to have him around to hang out with me and live this crazy life together.
I’ll stop rambling now. Some days they just give me more material than others . . .
(I’m not sure why, but this picture posted twice. I don’t mind looking at Eli extra, but it might be annoying to everyone else)
