I think I spend 75% of my day in the kitchen. Getting Big E her breakfast and getting her out the door. Shoveling something in my face. Clean up. Start all over again at lunch. Repeat after school and for dinner. Make Big E’s lunch for tomorrow. And now this little E starts expecting 3 meals a day? Thank God the fish died, at least I don’t have to remember to feed him. (And if you’re thinking it’s my fault the fish died cuz I didn’t remember to feed him, you are SO wrong. I forgot to put in the water conditioner after cleaning his tank.) I do love this phase, when they are just so in love with food they’ll try anything. Today we had winter squash for the first time. I started him off on the jarred version of that, as I still have bad memories of trying to make homemade winter squash for Elena. I think I needed safety goggles and some sort of power tool to open the sucker, then it ended up all nasty and stringy and she hated it. But baby food jar squash a big hit today. Lunch was bananas and yogurt. This photo would be after the third course, oatmeal and pears. In fact, I made the whole family happy food-wise today. It was breakfast-for-dinner: pancakes and bacon.
