So Mike’s not the only lucky one in the family (oh right . . . poker’s not about luck, it’s about skill). Our green little family made our way downtown last weekend for the Earth Day Festival. I ran into a lovely couple from our town of Fishers that has their own cloth diapering web business. I entered their drawing and won me some more cloth diapers! Hmmmm. . . unless I was the only one crazy enough to enter?
Just kidding. We loved our cloth diapers with Elena and are really pumped to get some more use out of them. And thanks to our new friends at Toasty Baby, we have some brand-spanking new ones and some really cute new diaper covers. Check them out at www.toastybaby.com There’s a lovely picture of the Six family on their website. You can see me in all my hugeness.
On a side note, Elena is enthralled with the whole cloth diaper thing. Between school and home, we’ve been focusing a lot on "reduce, reuse, recycle" during April. So I’m explaining to her how cloth diapers are a way for our family to practice the 3 R’s (I know you’re all humming the Jack Johnson song by now), and she’s all into it, wanting me to show her how to cloth diaper her baby doll. The next day we’re off to the library. Before we go, I have but one request: "Elena, you have to put on panties before we can go to the library." Don’t even make me explain that one. So she goes upstairs, comes down a few minutes later and we’re off. We get to the library and she looks like a total dork, shirt tucked in and her pants nearly up to her armpits. I try to help the poor child by pulling her shirt out, only to discover that instead of panties she’s chosen one of our new diaper covers instead. "But they’re so cute, mama!"
Just another normal day here at the Six household.
