was amazing tonight. It was one of those moments in parenting that makes up for all the less-than-stellar moments. Tonight my girl read to me! My sister had passed along some books called "Bob Books for Beginning Readers." In the last week or so, Elena’s been randomly telling me what some words say, like at the store the sign on the door says "pull." So tonight I pulled out a couple of the Bob books and she went to town. I wish you could see how proud of herself she was, like a little peacock. I got a little verklempt myself . . . today it’s Bob books, before we know it she’ll be getting her People magazine fix just like her mama.
On a different note, I’m almost through with my flippin’ rash. I do believe my melanoma appears to be a large scab now, so I can move on to being paranoid about some other illness. In the meantime I’ll be glad to be able to put my Peyton Manning jersey back on tomorrow for the Colts-Cowboys game. I love it so much I was scared to get it contaminated in any way, shape or form last weekend. Go Colts!

I’m so proud of Elena. If only the desire to read would hit her cousin, Tony (14yo)! Verklempt … love it!!! The other day we were talking and I used the word “jalopy.” My boys looked at me like I had a third eyeball. There’s another word to add to the list of outdated words!!!! Love ya!

Hi Angie! I love you blogs. I cannot believe Elena is reading… I almost got verklempt just reading your blog.
I also can’t believe you have been sporting a Peyton Manning jersey… I have lost all respect (j/k). Did you catch the smacking the Titans gave ’em? And what about today… Titans vs. Jaguars? Danny and I went. It was 72 degrees!
