Last week was an exciting week, to say the least. One event was exciting in a good way … the other event not so much. I’ll write about the fun event in a few days (warning: it will come equipped with video for which you might want earplugs).
Our other excitement involved a trip to the Emergency Room. Last Thursday Eli met the wrong end of a stick and wound up needing stitches on his lip and inside his mouth. I’ll spare you any pictures. What I will share is that mouth injuries bleed A LOT and Eli may just be the bravest boy ever … and that’s not just typical mom bragging. Even the doctors were impressed with his calmness during the entire procedure. Which is all well and good, but I’d rather not put his bravery to the test again any time soon.
He’s doing well, and we have no shame in showering him with extra snuggles, milkshakes and pretty much anything else he wants. I know he’ll be back to his rowdy self in no time. It will probably take me a little longer, though! I wrote about the accident in more detail over at The Risky Kids, including my fierce desire to wrap him in bubble wrap and follow him around wherever he goes.
Stay tuned in a few days for something a little more fun than stitches and painkillers.
