Just a few of the sentiments that express my love for Casey, of Moosh in Indy.
If you spend any amount of time reading blogs, especially mommy blogs, you know there can be a fair amount of drama. Just like in real life, some of us are very, very good at stirring the pot. Sadly, it's more likely to be the pots of drama boiling over that get noticed rather than the legions of amazing women out here, sharing the good, bad and the downright ugly so that maybe we don't feel so alone.
I've come to know and adore some of the most creative, inspiring, and honest women through blogging, and my life is so much better for it. They prefer to use their energy and talents to make our little corner of the world a better, more cozy place. I like that . . . I get enough drama in my life as it is, without searching the internet for it.
Casey is one of those very special people I would have never met without blogging. She is loved all across this land (and, hey! Canadians love her, too!), but some of us are very lucky to have Casey as a fellow Hoosier. Not that I'd rub it in or anything.
I look up to her for so many reasons – her writing, her photography, her heart. I'll never forget running into her at the State Fair, as I anxiously looked around for my photos and wondered what the heck I was thinking, pretending like my photos belonged there. We searched for my photos together, and she cheered me on, restoring my confidence that is so easily shaken. I'll never forget her words about how to be a friend with someone who struggles with infertility, guiding me to be a better support to those I cherish, whose pain I can never comprehend.
I'm so happy for Casey and her family, who after years of wanting and waiting for another child, are expecting a baby girl (affectionately known as Mozzi) in May.
Three cheers for those who use their voice to shed light on things we might not understand.
Three cheers for those who give space to cheering others on, instead of tearing them down.
Three cheers for those who fight to see and share the beauty in this world, when it's so much easier to only see the ugliness.
Three cheers for Casey and her gift, which she so unselfishly shares with all of us.
Three cheers for the beautiful family, so eagerly awaiting their newest member to love and adore.
Three cheers for Mozzi, whose miraculous journey has only just begun.
Hip, hip hooray!
And how about three cheers for amazing friends, like Emily of DesignHER Momma. In celebration of Casey and Mozzi, Emily has a virtual baby shower going on over on her blog. Every weekend there are awesome giveaways (like this week's awesomeness: a Bumbleride stroller and aden & anais swaddle wraps!). I hope you'll join the party!
