Weekend Links – The Stinky Edition

February 20, 2010 angie

Here are a few things that caught my eye around the internets recently:

Curried Lentils, Kesler-style from Katy at Thought for Food.  I'm not saying they're stinky, but as I was making them my friend, Sara, asked if it was something Mike would eat.  I snorted and told her that not only would he not touch them, he'd have some kind of comment about the smell.  He wasn't in the door 20 seconds before he said, "GAH! What's that smell?"  You have to worry about someone who doesn't notice the odor emanating from his hockey bag, but thinks the smell of curry requires gagging and the opening of windows.  Poor Katy, I'm not selling your recipe too well.  But if you like lentils?  And curry?  Quick, easy and wonderfully comforting.

Love In The Time Of Internet from Her Bad Mother.  I was in the panel Catherine mentions at Blissdom.  How much I share about my marriage is something I struggle with constantly.  As usual, HBM makes you take a new look at what you thought you knew.

I'm that kind of asshole from The Bloggess.  I'm totally putting this button on my blog.

9 Tips to Successful Menu-Planning from Simple Bites.  This is exactly what I do each week.  Only you wouldn't know it, because I didn't have the foresight to blog about it.  And make it look pretty.  Damn. But still, good advice.

Off to read Her Bad Mother. I posted a love letter to my husband this week- it was in response to several friends coming to me with problems in their marriages. Some his fault, some her fault, lots of hurt and bad choices.

Why is it somehow satisfying that one of my recipes caused a visceral stink reaction from Mike? Does that make me immature?
