Pomp & Circumstance

Last Thursday evening was a pretty momentous one in the Six household – our first graduation.  Kindergarten graduation, that is.  It was a really neat little ceremony.  The kids came in singing, "Make New Friends."  They sang a few more songs for us, and then each child stood up and their teacher said a few things about them.  Elena's teacher said she was "one smart cookie" and talked about how she gets a twinkle in her eye when she's coming up with something in her head.  She said that Elena is an amazing reader and that she's been lots of fun to have in the classroom, and that she's more than ready to charge ahead into elementary.  We're so proud of Elena, and utterly dumbfounded that we are about to have a first grader on our hands.
